Weisz + Yoes worked on the redevelopment of the Bosque, Playground, and Lawn for the Battery Conservancy with landscape architects Saratoga Associates and Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf. This collaborative design approach created a series of public spaces and designs that bring a contemporary sensibility to a historic park in great need of upgrade.

Weisz + Yoes was responsible for the architectural features of the new design, including a spiral-shaped water feature based on the spiral of Archimedes, custom-designed kiosks, and beches with and without back supports. The project also involved a pedestrian circulation study. The kiosks have been approved and lauded by the Art Commission as being elegant and modern additions to park architecture in the city.

One oval pavillion anchors each section of The Bosque in historic Battery Park. The design is replicable and at the same time unique to this waterfront garden site. The kiosks are not only daytime food venues but a lighting strategy for the waterfront gardens.

Weisz + Yoes customized a new park bench system for historic Battery Park. These curved benches with and without back supports will visually extend and enhance the unique plantings of master gardener Piet Oudolf.
